About Us

Our Story

Some businesses are born from opportunity. Ours was born from obsession — a quiet, lifelong obsession with the grain of wood, the geometry of a perfectly fitted joint, and the satisfaction of creating something that will outlast its maker.

Milestones

  1. 2015

Founded in a small workshop in the English countryside with nothing but hand tools, raw timber, and a stubborn refusal to compromise on quality.

  2. 2017

Completed our first bespoke commission — a solid oak dining table for a family of five. It still sits in their home today.

  3. 2019

Expanded the workshop and began taking on larger projects: fitted wardrobes, interior doors, and custom cabinetry.

  4. 2022

Word of mouth became our only marketing. Every piece we delivered opened the door to the next.

  5. 2025

Still small by choice. Still hand-making every piece. Still obsessed with the details that most people will never notice — but you will.

Our Principles

Built on Craft,
Driven by Honesty

— and somewhere between the two, a little soul.

Craft

Every joint cut by hand. Every surface planed until it earns its place. We obsess over the details that most people will never consciously notice — the perfect spring in a drawer, the exact radius of a chamfer — because we believe precision is felt even when it isn't seen.

Honesty

We don't hide imperfections behind filler and paint. We don't promise timelines we can't keep. We don't use timber that hasn't been selected by hand. What we make is exactly what we say it is — and nothing less.

Soul

A piece of furniture made by hand carries something that a machine-made piece cannot: the imprint of the person who made it. The small decisions, the quiet care, the hours invested in something that will outlive us all. That is what we mean by soul — and it is the only thing we will never compromise.

Craft in Focus

"Wood remembers. It remembers the rain, the slow summers, the years of patient growth. When we work with it, we're in conversation with something older than all of us — and we try to be worthy of that."

— Thomas, Founder

We source our timber from sustainable suppliers across Europe, selecting each board by hand for character, stability, and longevity. We don't use shortcuts. We don't hide imperfections behind paint. We celebrate them.

Our process begins with a conversation. We want to understand how you live, how you move through your home, and what you want a piece of furniture to do for you — beyond the obvious. Then we build it, slowly and deliberately, until it is exactly right.

Timber & Soul is not a factory. It is a workshop where two craftspeople spend their days doing the work they were made to do. If you'd like to be part of that — we'd love to hear from you.
